Meet the Team
Will Mathers, Belize Jungle Expert
Will has been working across three continents for the last 15 years for small and large NGOs. He started his career using utility 4x4s in logistic roles in Belize and saw first-hand the impact that having a capable vehicle can make in arduous, safety-critical environments. He lives in the UK with his family and two Defenders. In addition, Will runs a website dedicated to helping people get access to technical knowledge of Land Rovers.
Nathan Hindman, Photographer
Nathan is an award-winning commercial photographer who specializes in creating iconic photography for the luxury hospitality industry. His assignments have taken him to more than 50 countries and six continents around the world from safari lodges of southern Africa to the Czar’s palaces of Russia, including photographing polar bears and humpback whales in the remote islands of Svalbard with National Geographic. His work has been featured in countless national and international publications including Robb Report, The Wall Street Journal, Travel + Leisure, Forbes and many, many others.
In addition to his photography work, Nathan was one of the earliest adopters and advocates for overlanding in North America. He’s gone through extensive training with the Royal Geographic Society and Land Rover at the fabled Eastnor Castle in England. Nathan is a member of the only American driving team to win the prestigious Outback Challenge, alongside teammate Scott Brady.
Graham Jackson, Expedition Lead
A scientist by trade and an explorer by passion, Graham has been combining both for three decades as a guide, instructor and expedition leader. Graham specializes in expeditions in the bushveld of Southern Africa where he grew up, and in the jungles of Central America.
In 2004, Graham and his wife led a 30,000-mile overland adventure from London to Cape Town, which, arguably, was a key inspiration for the launch of the overland industry in the USA and formed the feature story in the premier edition of Overland Journal. He spent several years as Overland Journal’s gear editor and has written for Outdoor X4, Land Rover Owner International magazine and Exploring Overland’s online blog. He also contributed to two of Chis Scott’s books: Overlanders’ Handbook and Sahara Overland as well as Tom Sheppard’s seminal work Vehicle Dependent Expedition Guide.
Graham has guided expeditions in Africa, Australia, South America, the American West, Mexico and Central America. He is recognized as one of the premier Overland trainers in the world, founded Overland Training and is co-owner of 7P Overland. He was Director of Training for Overland Expo for its first decade, helping to develop it into the premier overland show in the world.
Graham is a Member National (MN14) of the Explorers Club, a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and a member of the Field Guides Association of Southern Africa. He holds an NPTC assessor’s certification for off-road driver and recovery training.
Eric Stockmann, Medic & Logistics
I have always felt a familiarity with the outdoors. The mountains, the lakes that make up the midwest and east coast have been home for most of my life. I'm grateful to have had similar excursions internationally; visiting Japan, China, Taiwan, India, Malaysia, Africa, Brazil, and Venezuela immeasurably widened my perspective. Since I've lived in California, being nearby the ocean has been added to the list of places to spend time.
My past career in photography and film production has allowed opportunities to be in many outdoor locations. Exploring nature off-the-beaten path has made being outside more fun and rewarding. In May 2023 I started my education to join Santa Barbara County Search and Rescue!
